Spotlights
Elise Bierer, Italy
Studying abroad was a transformative experience that opened my eyes to new cultures and perspectives. One of the highlights of my study abroad experience was the marine biology excursions, where we had the incredible opportunity to go kayaking and snorkeling in breathtaking locations. Paddling through crystal-clear waters, we marveled at the vibrant marine life beneath us, spotting schools of colorful fish and even the occasional sea turtle. Snorkeling was an adventure of its own, as we immersed ourselves in underwater ecosystems, exploring coral reefs teeming with life. These excursions not only deepened my appreciation for marine conservation but also fostered teamwork and camaraderie among my classmates, as we navigated the waters and shared our discoveries. Each trip felt like a unique adventure, connecting us to the natural world and to each other in unforgettable ways. Overall everything about this trip was so amazing and surreal, the food, the people, and the beauty of Sorrento Italy was the highlight of my life.
Elise studied at Sant Anna University through CIS Abroad, in Sorrento, Italy. Her major was Nursing.
