Hey Everyone,
Here's the reading for tomorrow, and apologies for missing last week! We'll be discussing Foucault, this excerpt is from his magnum opus Discipline and Punish, and in it, he discusses the role of punishment in an orphanage, and how punishment works to establish "the norm." I love reading Foucault, but I do want to put out there that his writing can be pretty dense, and, for him, an 8-page excerpt is about as light as you can go. All this to say if it seems like a lot, it probably is, but we can work through his ideas anyway.
